Our Journey

History & Milestones

From corporate registration to a multi-division industrial complex, a chronicle of rapid growth, strategic partnerships, and expanding capability across defence, agriculture, and clean mobility.

Founding
2017
Registration of MHIL
Margalla Heavy Industries Limited is formally registered, establishing the legal and institutional foundation for a new defence and heavy industries enterprise. At this stage, MHIL existed on paper alone, with no physical facilities or production footprint, a corporate entity awaiting its industrial transformation.
Commercial Growth
2020–2021
Local & International Contracts
MHIL begins securing contracts across business-to-government (B-G), business-to-business (B-B), and business-to-consumer (B-C) channels, both domestically and internationally. This period marks MHIL's transition from a registered entity to an active commercial operator, building the commercial pipeline that would underpin its subsequent industrial expansion.
Industrial Expansion
2022–2023
Divisional Establishment
MHIL establishes its core operating divisions, Defence Equipment, HIT Armour Division, and Margalla Green, and begins developing dedicated assembly lines across the Taxila campus. This milestone transforms MHIL from a contracting organisation into a vertically integrated industrial complex with distinct production capabilities.
Indigenous Innovation
2024–2025
CPIS, Agri Drones & Precision Farming
MHIL advances indigenous product development with CPIS, a proprietary system for which MHIL remains the sole manufacturer in Pakistan. Alongside this, the organisation enters the agricultural technology sector with agri drones, laser land levellers, and super seeders, extending its engineering reach beyond defence into precision farming and rural mechanisation.
Clean Mobility
2026
NEV Division & Electric Buses
MHIL launches the New Electric Vehicle (NEV) division, marking its entry into clean public transport. The division focuses on the design and manufacture of electric buses, aligning MHIL's heavy industries expertise with Pakistan's growing demand for sustainable urban mobility solutions.
